Recovering Windows XP Using Last Known Good Configuration

This tech-recipe describes restoring your PC using XP’s Last Known Good Configuration option. This a recovery feature used to restart a computer by employing the most recent settings that functioned properly. It can be used after a crash or an error has occurred.

To start your PC using Last Known Good Configuration, follow these steps:
1. Restart your PC.
2. After restarting your PC, hold F8 on the keyboard.
3. The Windows XP Boot menu will appear.
4. Choose Last Known Good Configuration and Enter

Note:Your Windows XP will re-configure itself to the last known good configurations.
