Sidekick: How to fix a bad developers key upload
This a recipe that i just came up with since i had to use it (for some reason my IMEI changed two days ago and i had to do this). Again, this requires the dev kit installed and the usb cable.
Requirements:
Sidekick
USB Cable
Dev. Kit w/htconsole
null dev key : http://developer.danger.com/downloads/null-device-key.sq
If you ever get a message on your sidekick like, “Locked Developer Key” or “Invalid Key” or something to that extent and you can’t use your phone at all. You might need to flash the null dev key to the device to revert it back to normal. I would then suggest to check to see if the IMEI in the sidekick is the same as on the sidekick (mine just changed for some reason last week).
To flash the null key, do the following:
Attach the usb cable to your pc and to your sidekick
Open Htconsole in the htconsole folder in the dev kit
Once opened, go to Commands > Flash System and choose the null key you downloaded and let it finish uploading and reboot.
Hopefully your sidekick loads up like normal.
If not, (like me!). try this.

I had to remove my SIM card, attach the sidekick to the usb cable.
Then in htconsole typed the poweroff command. This wiped the current memory out and then let the system reload from rom. This worked for me, but i had to get a new dev key to match my new IMEI.
