Quick Way to Get Design Ideas For Your New Site

New web service will give you instant design ideas.


Writers read. Musicians listen. Artists look at the art of others.

Web designers should do the same.

However, quickly finding and viewing a large amount of web pages can be very painful. You can’t easily scan more than one page at once, for example.

Thumbshots.org changes this. Through their site you scan the whole DMOZ directory. Instead of just seeing links to pages, you can actually see a thumbnail with the link of the site!

Here’s tech-recipes’s dmoz catagory as an example:

I first found this when I had a client who had yellow in his business name. Obviously we would love to use a yellow-related theme; however, yellow is a tough color to use on a web page. By quickly scanning through the thumbnails on thumbshots.org, I found several interesting ideas.
