We all forget stuff. Here’s how to change or reset the password on the administrator’s account.
If you have physicial access to a computer, you can usually change or reset the password to the administrator’s account. Booting to a CD-ROM gives a user the ability to change or reset the account easily.
Boot discs have been discussed in tech-recipes before in the boot to CD-ROM recipe. Many of these boot discs contain password recovery tools. Be sure to read the warnings as systems with encrypted files may cause problems. Many linux distros out there have windows password recovery utilities.
