By placing your cursor over the Show Desktop button (the small rectangle) at the end of the Taskbar, Aero Peek will show the Desktop. It does this by hiding any open windows and showing the outline of where they were. While this is pretty cool, it can be annoying.

If you hover your mouse over the Show desktop button on the Taskbar,

Aero Peek does this:

To disable Aero Peek:

1. Right-click on an empty portion of your Taskbar.

2. Select Properties.

3. On the Taskbar tab, go to the bottom and locate the Preview desktop with Aero Peek section.

4. Uncheck the Use Aero Peek to preview the desktop checkbox.

5. Click the OK button.

Or you can just point your mouse at that corner and right-click and make sure that “Peek at desktop” is deselected.
