Sometimes it is necessary to open another instance of an application (as long as it supports multiple instances) that you are using. Instead of going to the Start menu, Windows 7 provides two simple ways to make it happen.

Method 1:

1. Find the application in the Taskbar.

2. Hold down the Shift key while left-clicking on the Taskbar icon.

A new instance of the application will open.

Method 2:

1. Find the application in the Taskbar.

2. Use the middle mouse button (or wheel) to click on the Taskbar icon.

A new instance of the application will open.
