I followed the directions to viewing multiple months but it didn't work. What an I doing wrong?

I am wanting to see future appt's in the little bubbles below the calendar that is displayed on the “TO-DO BAR”. It looks like it only pops up the little bubbles with appt's in them up to 30 days? Is this something you can change? I would like to see the appt's for current month and the next month. But, not necessarily the actual calander for 2 months.

Can more months be displayed in the navigation pane when and only when in the calender…instead of in the To Do Pane?
This makes it more like Ourlook 2003 which had a much better use of display real estate.

my to do bar will not give me the option of showing more appointments now that I can see more months.
