Windows 7 and Windows 8: Turn Off All Unnecessary Animations

Windows animations are beautiful but they are distracting and can significantly slow underpowered machines.

Many older computer systems have difficulty with intensive graphics. Frequently, this will be noticeable when the animations bring the speed of Windows down to a crawl. Other users have difficulty maintaining attention and focus in our multitasking world. The easily distracted will find that reducing animations will prevent the loss of focus and flow when working in a computer environment.

1.First, we need to bring up the Control Panel. This can be done by either searching for it from your start screen, or selecting it from the Win + X menu.

2.From the Control Panel options select Ease of Access.

3.Under Ease of Access choose the Ease of Access Center from the available options.

4.Now scroll down until you reach Explore all settings. Then select Make the computer easier to see from the list below.

5.Enable the check-box next to Turn off all unnecessary animations (when possible.)

If you ever want to reverse these settings, simple follow these instructions again and uncheck the box.
