XP/Vista: How to Remove Arrow Links to iTunes Store in iTunes 8
Posted by tipmonkies in Windows
When selecting music in iTunes, arrow links appear that redirect to the iTunes store. If you don’t like them, here is how to get rid of them.
Once again we are going to be hacking away at iTunes configuration files. To do this needs a special free editor.
Make backups of these files before editing them.
Be sure that iTunes is not running.
1. Download and install Notepad++
2. In Notepad++ click File then Open
3. Paste the following location into the filename box and click the Open to open the correct file
%AppData%\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunesPrefs.xml

4. Scroll just below the following section
5. Copy and paste the information below right after the “dict” section.
AA==

6. Save the file and run iTunes.
To undo this, just delete the section and resave your file. Alternatively you could just replaced the edited file with your backed up version.
