I have windows vista and today the quick launch taskbar is permanently locked. I have been trying to uncheck it, but it doesn't work. In fact, I can't seem to change anything, and I'm the only user on my laptop and is running it as an administrator. Yesterday I was able to pick different programs to play my avi and mpeg movie files, but today they are all defaulted to windows media player. Windows media player automatically updated to a different version today, and during the installation process I choose to customize which files Windows Media Player can play. However, all the files boxes, including avi and mpeg, where grey-out, except for the Apple Media files. I'm running a Dell XPS M1330 laptop. I cancelled the new Windows Media Player auto update, because it wouldn't let me choose my Windows Media Classic Player to play my AVI files. Does anyone knows what's going on? It all started with the quicklaunch taskbar being permanently locked after I booted up this morning. Thanks.
