IE 7 / IE 8: Disable Sounds in Web Pages

If you are tired of having your browsing experience suddenly interrupted by embedded sounds in the web page you are viewing, you can easily disable this feature. This can be an important step to take if you find yourself doing a lot of surfing at work.

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Click Tools and select Internet Options.

3. Select the Advanced tab.

4. Scroll down to the Multimedia section.

5. Uncheck the Play sounds in webpages checkbox.

6. Click the OK button.

To re-enable this feature, simply go back and re-check the checkbox.
