Keynote: Print Slides in Columns

Printing nine slides per printed page is a common way of making handouts from powerpoint or keynote presentations. In Keynote, finding this printing option is difficult. Here is where to find it…


I have been a long time powerpoint user. Typically finding my way around keynote, however, has been very comfortable. I typically create my handouts with 9 slides per page. It took me longer than it should to figure out how to do this with keynote.

1. Click Print

2. For some people, the options listed under Handout will suffice. Under Handout, more than 6 slides per page is not an option. This is where most people get stuck.

3. Instead select Individual Slides and customize the options on how you would like each slide to appear…

4. Next, next the dropbox to Layout as shown below. Select how many slides per sheet you wish to print.

5. Select the appropriate printing output based on need — Print, Preview, or PDF
