One of the cool features of KDE 4.0 is the widgets. Unfortunately, when you install KDE, only a few widgets are included. You can get even more widgets to help produce a sexy desktop by doing the following:

1. Open a terminal window.

2. Run the following command:

sudo apt-get install extragear-plasma

3. Approve all prompts for installing the widgets.

Now when you look at your list of widgets, you'll see these additional widgets:

Twitter Microblogging (for showing and posting tweets), Picture Frame (for displaying your favorite pic), Dictionary, Comic Strip, 3D Earth Model, Lancelot Launcher and Lancelot Part (for launching applications), and Color Picker.
