Google for gear, google for planes. Google now can search the FAA and FCC databases.

FAA Airplane Registration Number:

You always see the FAA numbers on the tails of planes. Wanna know the details of that plane including the year built, registered owner, and airworthiness?

Oh, yeah… you can just google the FAA database. Just google search for the aircraft registration number:

Google: n158ua

FCC equipment IDs:

Often it is difficult to find out the original manufacturer of computer equipment and devices. One easy way is to find an FCC ID number, do a google search, and see whose name comes up.

When doing a google search in this way, preface your ID number with FCC. Here’s an Intel FCC ID number, for example.

Google: fcc EJM386S303

Thanks, google!
