The post by Anonymous on March 17, 2010 worked fine for my Version 4.5 Mail. I found navigation to the appropriate preference challenging without the specific path provided.

“To remove Notes from inbox: Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors > Notes. Uncheck “Store notes in Inbox”. If you have more than one account, do this for each account.”

If you still haven’t fixed it, what I found you have to do is select the notes folder under “Reminders” and delete them all so that they are in the trash, but then drag them from the trash back into the notes folder. This resets their location to solely the notes folder, and removes them from all inboxes they were associated with.

just go to Mail Preferences, there’s a checkbox in each Account setting to store notes in inbox

I would like to mention, that if you have already created a note and it is still visible in the inbox after making the above changes, one needs to delete the note entirely, and recreate it. The second time around, you will not find it in your inbox, only in the correct Notes link.

I had that originally unchecked, as Phil suggested. So this doesn’t work for me. Any other possibilities? Also, I recently noticed that my leopard laptop has crack-split on the lower edge, which I learned is a Mac problem rather than anything I could have done. But my warrantee has past. Shouldn’t Apple take responsibility anyway? This just happened a few weeks ago. Has anyone experienced this?
