Leopard Spotlight: Calculator

If you are not a big fan of the dashboard calculator, then you will love this. In OS X 10.5 you can now perform math calculations in Spotlight. Keep reading to see it action…

As uncool as I probably am, I rarely use the calculator on the Dashboard. Maybe it is my windows roots but I just don’t flip over to it very often.

For my ultra-quick calculations I would typically use google as a calculator. With Leopard, now I do the same thing with Spotlight.

In Spotlight, just type in your formula and your numbers will be calculated on the fly…

If you need to do more calculations, you can open the calculator while you are there in Spotlight as well.
