Sometimes MightyQ needs to be online and chatting with fellow programmers without being visible to everybody. Why? Because if I see him online, I am chatting with him and slowly him down. In the Leopard version of iChat, you now can be online but invisible to our those on your buddy list.

I do not get to chat with MightyQ enough... so when I see him online, I jump. Sometimes he needs to get some work done, but he still needs to be able to chat with some of our programmers.

Now with the new iChat, he can be invisible. "Invisible" means that he can see and chat with his buddies that are online; however, he does not appear online to others.

In iChat you can set Invisible as a status... just like Away or Available.

1. Click the iChat menu
2. Select My Status
3. Select Invisible
