By default, the Google Talk application starts when Windows does. If you don’t use Google Talk regularly, you are wasting resources by having it run when you don’t need it. To stop Google Talk from starting when Windows does:

1. Open Google Talk.

2. Click Settings.

3. Make sure that General is selected from the left pane.

4. Uncheck the Start automatically when starting Windows checkbox.

5. Click OK.

here’s an idea, how bout instead of going into each individual program and searching for the option, one goes into start, run, types in ‘msconfig’ clicks on the startup tab and chooses which programs one doesn’t want to start up. or downloads a program like ccleaner which makes it even easier.
