If your iPhone behaves strangely and you think that an application on it is frozen or not responding, you can close the application easily.

If your iPhone isn't responding properly, sit on your hands for a minute to see if it resolves itself. If it does not, you can try closing a frozen application by pressing and holding the Home button (centered below the screen) for about five seconds.
