AIM 6: Prevent AIM from Starting When Windows Starts

By default, the AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) starts when Windows does. If you don’t use AIM on a frequent basis, you are wasting resources by having it run when you don’t need it.

1. Click Edit and select Settings.

2. On the left side of the Settings window, click Sign In/Sign Out.

3. Uncheck the Start AIM when Windows starts checkbox.

4. Click the Save button.
