Outlook 2007: How To Prevent the New Mail Desktop Alert from Appearing

By default, Outlook 2007 automatically pops up a Desktop Alert to show part of a new message that has just been received. To prevent others from viewing your incoming e-mail, you can disable it. To do this:


1. Right-click on the Outlook icon in the Notification Area, next to the clock.

2. In the resulting menu, uncheck Show New Mail Desktop Alert.

    What about if the Outlook icon does not appear in the Notification Area?
