Moving and navigating files through Finder can be much easier once you figure out how to open folders in a new window. Here are the shortcuts to do it.

Need to move certain files from one folder to another? By opening different folders in different windows, dragging files around becomes very easy. Here is how to do it.

1. To open items from finder’s shelf or sidebar in a new window, hold the CMD button and click the mouse button.

2. To open items from the main finder window in a new window, hold the CMD button and double click the mouse button.

Im so happy I found this. That was frustrating the heck out of me that it wasn’t in a context menu… such a simple way too…

This is the greatest thing I’ve learn on OSX lately. Well in fact I just thought “Hey, it would could if I could open a folder in a new window (tab in the future?) like I do on Firefox”.

This page is the first search result Google found, and it does the job! Thanks :)
