Vista: Add to SendTo Menu

Sendto is an excellent tool; however, finding it in vista can be difficult. Here are your directions for finding the sendto folder in vista.

I finally found the sendto folder through the advanced search feature in vista. Here is the easy way to add to the sendto folder/menu.

To add things to the sendto menu, you just need to add a shortcut to the sendto folder. For example, if you want to have sendto your C drive, you would just need to create a shortcut to the C drive in your sendto folder. Finding the sendto folder is the hard part.

1. Click win-key+R to open the Run box
2. Paste in the following and click ENTER:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

Editor’s note. This also works: shell:sendto

3. When the sendto folder opens, create or drag a shortcut to the item you want to add to the SendTo menu.

Note: If this doesn’t work for you, the format is the following…

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

where USERNAME is your actual username.
