Office 2007/IE7 RSS Feeds: Change Number of Items Displayed

Posted January 26, 2007 by Hack_Vista in Windows

Office 2007 now contains a RSS aggregator. IE7 contains an aggregator as well. The only way to change the properties of the feeds in office is to change the properties through IE7. Here is how to change one of the most common features of a RSS aggregator: How to Limit the Number of Items Shown per Feed.

Office 2007 has a feed reader. Great, right?

Well, Office 2007 uses IE7 for most of its settings and customization of the way it handles RSS. This is a poor choice as some users will use Office with firefox.

To customize this aspect of the Office 2007 feedreader, you’ll need to dig into IE7.

IE7: Change Number of RSS Updates Displayed

1. Open IE7
2. Click the Star

3. Click the Feeds tab

4. Right click on the feed you want to change and select Properties from the context menu.

5. Set the number of items you wish to be displayed and press OK.

The number of items set will control both IE7 and Office 2007. You may need to reload IE7/Office and refresh the feed to see the difference.
