XP/Vista: Edit Metadata (EXIF) of Photos and Images for Free
Chaning the metadata of photos and images previously was so hard. Now there is a very easy way to accomplish this task. Here is the free program to do it.
Thank. You. God.
Previously we have discussed using Vista to change the time and date of image files.
Microsoft has now released a software package to edit all of this meta information. It requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and Windows Imaging Component to run. If you don’t have it, the install will prompt you for it.
Here is the download link (3.96 MB).
Once installed, right click on the image or images that you want to edit. Select the new option Photo Info from the context menu.
Here’s a screenshot showing all the metadata information that you can change with this sweet little progie.
If you get an error installing this program, such as…
- There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.
You should try installing the Windows Imaging Component first and then trying again.
