XP: Unable to Send Pictures Via Email

Posted October 30, 2006 by MickeyMouse in Windows

Recently, I have seen several systems develop errors when trying to use the resize feature when attempting to send pictures through email. This errors appear after clicking on “e-mail this file” in the Pictures Task pane.

I am unsure why the recent increase in problems dealing with this Microsoft XP feature. When people notice this error, they click the “e-mail this file” in the Pictures Task pane, and then several errors may occur. Often, for example, the Send Pictures via E-Mail window never appears. This is what it should look like:

This prevents the user from being able to automatically resize pictures when emailing, for example.

I believe many of these problems are from people disabling the picture preview to protect against the WMF exploit. Guess what? That has been patched, so we can use our trusty picture preview once again.
