Sorry, this file is not a Power Point presentation.
This is the message I get when I try to open a file which had an extension .pps and I converted to .ppt according to the above instructions.
When I changed the file's extenstion I got this message :-
If you change a file name extension, the file may become unusable.
Are you sure you want to change it?
Can someone help me please?

you are a life saver!! I had two files my .ppt and my .pps and when i went to open the .ppt to make changes it came up with an error message to say the file was corrupt so I thought I would have to do the whole thing all over again (a 42 page presentation!) but thankfully i came across this page and managed to convert my .pps file back so I could edit it.
I wouldnt have thought of doing this - cant thank you enough!!

What do u really wanna do...u wanna convert it from .pps to .ppt or some thing else. If u can conver it into .ppt, then u can do whetever u want........This is what is to be done...

Rather than double clicking on the pps file, go into PowerPoint and then File> Open and then open the file.

As long as it has not been protected you should be able to open and edit it.
