Word: Print Last Page First or Reverse Order
Posted by MickeyMouse in Microsoft Word
In my ink jet printer, each new printed page is placed on the last printed page. Therefore, the last printed page is always on top. For a long document, it takes a while to resort and place the first page first! This is how you can get Microsoft Word to reverse the print order and save all the trouble.
I have spent so much time resorting documents after printing. On my printer, the last page printed is always on top. By printing the last page first (reverse order), the document is already correctly sorted.
Here is how to do it:
1. Open Microsoft Word
2. Open the document to be printed
3. Click the Tools menu
4. Select Options
5. Click the Print tab
6. Check the Reverse Print Order option
7. Select OK
Now, all your documents will prevent in reverse order. What a lifesaver!

For Word 2007 it is on advanced word options. Select the Office button, word options, advanced, the option is under the print settings.

For Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac -
File
Print…
Choose ‘Paper Handling’ in the ‘Copies & Pages’ dropdown box
In the ‘Page Order’ dropdown box you have three options
‘Automatic’ – ?
‘Normal’ – prints page 1 first, last page ends up on top
‘Reverse’ – last page prints first, page 1 ends up on top
Choose to taste = )
Now back to study

There is no ‘tools’ menu in 2010 Word either. I used to be able to do this in Word 95, and 97 but when I go into both Microsoft Word print and my printer settings occasionally it will work but most of the time it doesn’t. It’s very distressing when you are printing out 50 or more pages.
