You can make Visual Studio 2005 open much quicker by having it open to an empty environment instead of going to the default Start Page. To do this:

1. Click Tools.

2. Select Options.

3. In the left pane of the Options dialog box, expand Environment.

4. Click Startup.

5. Select Show empty environment in the dropdown for At startup.

6. Uncheck the Download content every checkbox

7. Click OK.
