By default, when your mouse pointer is hovered over a section of an Excel 2003 chart, it will display tooltips. To disable Chart Tips:

1. Click Tools.

2. Select Options.

2. Click the Chart tab.

3. In the Chart tips section, uncheck the Show names and Show values checkboxes.

4. Click OK.
