Windows XP: How to Roll Back a Device Driver

Sometimes, the new version of a device driver can make your system unstable. You can roll back to the previous driver using the steps provided in this tech-recipe.

1. Right-click My Computer, and select Properties to bring up System Properties.

2. Select the Hardware tab, and click the Device Manager button.

3. Double-click on the problematic device.

4. Click the Driver tab.

5. Click the Roll Back Driver button.

Restart your system, and it will begin using the previous driver for that device.
