Office 365: How to Enable Blind Carbon Copy (Bcc) in Outlook

If you are sending an email out to a few people or a mailing list, you probably are wanting to hide the list of addresses from each recipient. You do this by using the blind carbon copy field in the message you are creating. The Outlook web app has this field hidden by default, to unhide the field, follow these steps:

To enable Blind Carbon Copy on a per message basis:

1. Open the Outlook Web App.

2. Start a new message by clicking New in the menu.

3. When the New Message window appears, click Options.

4. Under Current Message Settings, check the Show Bcc checkbox.

5. Click OK.

The Bcc field will now be visible in your message.

If you find yourself using the Blind Carbon Copy field often, you can set it to always show on new messages.

To enable Blind Carbon Copy on all messages:

1. Open the Outlook Web App.

2. Go to the upper-right corner, beneath your name, click Options and select See All Options.

3. In the left pane, select Settings.

4. In the right pane, go to the Message Format section. Check the Always show Bcc checkbox.

5. Go to the upper left corner and select Mail to return to your inbox. When prompted to save your changes, select the Save button.
