By default, mozilla firefox saves downloaded files to the user’s desktop. This is how to change the location where firefox saves downloaded files.

I do not like to clutter up my desktop with stuff. I like to place all my downloaded files into a downloads folder. Here is how to change the default location for downloaded files.

1. Open Filefox
2. Click the Tools Menu
3. Click Options
4. Click Downloads tab
5. Under Download Folder browse to the folder you want firefox to use or select Ask me where to save every file
6. Click OK

This is great but does not work for Mozilla 3.6.10 or greater. Here is the new way. Steps1. Go to tools and on the drop down menu click options. (Alt+T then O)2. Go to General(This is the default), if not you have to scroll over(Ctrl+Tab)3. In the new window go to ‘Save files to’ and click on ‘Browse’ to select the destination folder that you want.(Alt+O)4. Click ‘OK’ and you have finished.
