IE7: How to Subscribe to RSS Feed

IE7 contains an excellent RSS Feed Aggregator/Reader. Here is how to subscribe to an RSS feed in Internet Explorer 7.

Davak sent out a call for tech-recipes regarding IE7′s Feed Aggregator. Here’s how to subscribe to an RSS feed using IE7.

If IE7 detects that a web site has an RSS feed, it will light up the universal feed icon in the IE7 toolbar. If no feed is found, the icon will be gray. If a feed is found, the icon lights up orange as this example shows:

Click the icon and the feed will be displayed in your browser window. Clicking the arrow beside the icon will show if the web site has multiple associated feeds.

At the top of the feed display in your browser window will be a subscribe to this feed link. Clicking on this will place the feed into your list of subscriptions.

Please note that some web sites do not yet have auto-discovery of their web feeds. Typically these sites will have an icon that says RSS, XML, web feed, or something similar. Clicking on this will also display the feed in your browser window with an option to install.
