Remove QuickTime Icon From System Tray
Programs that needlessly install themselves into the system tray really bug me. QuickTime has recently appeared again after I installed iTunes. Here’s how to get rid of that blue Q that is just taking up space.
Removing quicktime from your system tray is easy.
1. Right-click on the quicktime icon in the system tray
2. Select QuickTime Preferences

3. Click the Advanced tab
4. Uncheck Install QuickTime icon in system tray
5. Click OK
The icon will immediately disappear. This will not change your ability to play quicktime files or use iTunes.
