How to Backup Active Directory

Backup of Active Directory on Windows 2000 Advanced Server

1. Click Start -> RUN

2. Type NTBACKUP

3. Then choose on tab “Select Backup”

4. Then Select “System State”

5. Then Select a location, where to store the backup of the server, then burn it on a CD.

If your server goes down.. and you want to recover your active directory backup..

You just install a new Windows 2000 Advanced Server then on Boot UP

- Press F8 upon boot up
- On Screen Menu select “DIRECTORY RECOVERY…….”
- Then put your Backup CD on the CD-ROM

that’s alll……….
