Windows 2000/XP/2003: Play Brief Sound Alarm when Caps Lock Key Is Pressed

As I code deeper and deeper into the night, my dexterity gets worse and worse. I typically end up hitting the Caps Lock key without realizing it. Using the Windows feature described in this tutorial, the OS will audibly warn me when this occurs.

Are you ever in the middle of A SENTENCE AND ACCIDENTALLY HIT YOUR CAPS LOCK KEY?

Fortunately, using one of the accessibility options within Windows, you can enable an audible warning when you hit this key accidentally. Use the following steps:

1. Click Start.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Control Panel.
4. Select Accessibility Options.
5. Click Use ToggleKeys.
6. Click OK.

Now, every time your fingers hit that key, you will receive a warning tone reminding you to TURN YOUR CAPS LOCK OFF.
