Flickr Hack: How to Allow Users to Search Your Flickr Account from Any Web Page

Posted July 15, 2006 by MickeyMouse in Internet

Do you want your blog’s users to be able to search through your Flickr account? Here is the code that will allow them to do it.

I want people to be able to search my Flickr account from my blog. The following code made this possible. Simply paste it into your site and modify it using your own Flicker ID.

The most difficult part of this is figuring out your unique Flickr ID.

I have used ChicagoEye’s work for an example.

To find your Flickr ID:

1. Log into Flickr.
2. At the bottom of your pictures, mouse over the RSS link that looks something like this:

Feeds for ChicagoEye’s photostream Available as RSS 2.0 and Atom

When you mouse over the RSS links on your page, you will be able to see your user ID. ChicagoEye’s ID is in bold.[email protected]&format=rss_200

Replace your ID code with ChicagoEye’s code ([email protected]) below.

Search ChicagoEye’s Photos in the example below:

Once you have identified your unique Flickr ID, you can also easily add a Flickr slideshow to your blog.
