Many people do not like the Microsoft Office assistants such as clippy the paperclip. This recipe describes how to uninstall the office assistants.

This works for win2k and XP.

1. Start -> Control Panel
2. Add/Remove Programs
3. Click on Microsoft Office
4. Click Change
5. Click Add/Remove Features
6. Click the “+” before Office Shared Features
7. Click on the gray box before Office Assistant
8. Click Not Available with the red X
9. All the office assistants should now have a red X
10. Click Update
11. Office will update itself.

Now, the paperclip and all the assistants should be disabled.

    Don't get too used to them... they are dying in office 12.

    I believe "clippy" is an agent... and you can download more here:
