Kill the Office Paperclip and Assistants

Many people do not like the Microsoft Office assistants such as clippy the paperclip. This tech-recipe describes how to uninstall the office assistants.

This works for win2k and XP.

1. Start -> Control Panel
2. Add/Remove Programs
3. Click on Microsoft Office
4. Click Change
5. Click Add/Remove Features
6. Click the “+” before Office Shared Features
7. Click on the gray box before Office Assistant
8. Click Not Available with the red X
9. All the office assistants should now have a red X
10. Click Update
11. Office will update itself.

Now, the paperclip and all the assistants should be disabled.
