What Are Firefox Extensions? What Extensions Are Installed?

Do you want to know what Firefox can do? Read this guide for using extensions.

Extensions are small add-ons that add new functionality to Firefox. They can add anything from a toolbar button to a completely new feature. They allow Firefox to be customized to fit the personal needs of each user if they need additional features, while keeping Firefox small to download.

Extensions range from small, like adding new properties of TABBED browsing, or large, like adding a Calender.

TO SEE WHAT EXTENSIONS YOU HAVE:

Go to the main menu.

1. Click Tools in Firefox.
2. Click Extensions.

The dialog box will list all extensions you have currently installed.

Finding and Adding New Extensions

To find extensions, point your browser to https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/. It is the main archive of Firefox extensions on the Internet.

To install Extensions

1. Once you have found the extensions you would like to add, click Install Now for Windows (or the operating system you are using).
2. A dialog box will appear saying that the website is requesting permission to install the following item. It will then list the extension you want to install. Click Install Now.
3. It will then download the extension into Firefox.
4. You will need to restart Firefox for the extension to take effect.

Congratulations! You have installed your first Firefox Extensions.
