Vista: Stop the start menu from logging your recently opened programs and files

This prevents the display of recently opened programs and documents in your start menu.


Simple modification:

right click on the task bar and select properties

choose the start menu tab

now uncheck the following two options:

    “Store and display a list of recently opened files”
    “Store and display a list of recently opened programs”

press OK to apply these settings and your privacy is that much more secure.

*Side note:
Vista still has issues, but i like where MS is going with this new OS.
