Been installing a bunch of new audio cards lately. I always need a way to test. Knowing the location of this hidden little music file is fun.

Over 5 minutes of synth and cheesy little electronic percussion. Impress your friends with this little windows easter egg.

Play the Windows Welcome Music:

    1. Click Start
    2. Click Run
    3. Type in the following and click OK:

    [list]C:\Windows\system32\oobe\images\title.wma

4. The music file should play with your default music player.

actually this music plays at the first start of the windowsXP, in the first steps setting panel. the thing is that most of the soundcards require sound driver so they dont work then yet. my old sound blaster value is automaticly detected and installed by windows xp, so it plays this music at the first startup screen :)

I found this by accident when I got my first laptop some long time ago! It’s actually one of my favorite things about XP, and I pulled it out of the System32 folder to put it on my iPod. Kinda wish they had done more songs like this!
