Change the Advanced Appearance of Your Desktop Theme

Posted November 16, 2005 by risherz in Windows

With most versions of Windows, you can customize the theme of your desktop to suit your preferences. For example, the black text on white windows might be too bright for your eyes. Fortunately, there is a way to change the default color settings. You can also change the font as well as other features.

Changing the default settings of desktop themes is simple. Follow the steps below.
Note: Doing so is going to change the theme for all windows and applications in your account.

1. Right-click on your desktop.
2. Then click Properties.
3. Go to the Appearances tab.
4. Click on the Advanced button (located on the bottom right of the window).
5. Now, you can customize the appearance of your desktop. Experiment, and get the desired color choices. If you change a color, then the color of the window in the preview section will also change.
6. Click OK.
7. Then click OK again on the previous window.

Windows will now apply your settings.

*This works with most version of windows
