The following tutorial describes how to minimize a full-screen game with out exiting.

You are in a game, such as Sims or Starcraft, and you need to minimize it. What is the quickest and easiest way?

Simply hit the Windows button on your keyboard which is located between Control and Alt.

This will bring up your Start menu and will minimize your game at the same time.

The game will stay minimized without any repercussions for most games. In some instances, this action will pause the game.

I am trying to do this on a really old game, on a brand new computer, and whenever I hit that button the screen is black ad the game will not work when I try to return. To be exact I’m trying it on Star Wars TIE Fighter, and I am playing it on Windows Vista. Any advice?

Be careful though, some games (Counter-Strike:Source and Call of Cthulhu:Dark Corners Of The Earth in particular) don’t like their game windows being minimized, and may crash/freeze
