how to minimize a full screen game with out exiting.

When your in a game lets say Sims or Starcraft or whatever your passion is and you need to minimize it for what ever reason.

Simply hit the Windows button (located between Control and Alt) on your keyboard.

What this will do is bring up your start menu but at the same time will minimize your game.

It will stay minimized with any repercussions other than on some games it will pause the game.

I am trying to do this on a really old game, on a brand new computer, and whenever I hit that button the screen is black ad the game will not work when I try to return. To be exact I’m trying it on Star Wars TIE Fighter, and I am playing it on Windows Vista. Any advice?

Be careful though, some games (Counter-Strike:Source and Call of Cthulhu:Dark Corners Of The Earth in particular) don’t like their game windows being minimized, and may crash/freeze

That minimized it but freezes the menu.

sometimes, you can go to the game options and there is a “play game in window” option (such as Garrys Mod)
