You should be able to change it to 0x2102 without problems, but I would keep a copy of the good configuration first!

From enable mode, you can:&lt;code&gt;configure terminal
config-register 0x2102&lt;/code&gt;
 
A show version should tell you that the config-register will be 2102 at the next reboot.</description>

		<description>Doing a &#039;copy running-config startup-config&#039; saves my configuration, but any ideas why a &#039;reload&#039; doesn&#039;t load the startup-config file?  I have to do a &#039;copy startup-config running-config&#039; by hand.

My &#039;configuration register&#039; is 0x2142
