Cache is where your pages are stored for faster and easier viewing so that the browser doesn't need to download the page from the server all over again. FireFox also might have your passwords stored right on your computer
Lets just say you do a really important transaction using your credit card... and then you just close the window. Unfortunately the conformation page (most websites have one) with your credit card number etc. could still be saved on your computer. And then programmers can even get access to this private and important data. So every time you do something it is important to remove any private data.
But make sure that you only delete the necessary private data. Some stuff like your e-mail password might be unimportant to keep it on your hard drive!
To clear the important private data after every browser session follow these steps:
1. Click on Tools
2. Then click on Options
3. Go to the Privacy Tab
4. Then at the bottom of the window click on Settings
5. Then check the box beside "Clear Private data when FireFox Closes"
6. Make sure saved passwords and cookies are unchecked
7. Click on OK
Now FireFox will automatically erase any important data from your system. In case you have any important password on your system too then don't delete all passwords. Just delete the necessary ones.
To do this:
1. Tools
2. Options
3. Privacy Tab
4. Password Tab
5. View Saved Passwords
6. Click on the Password you want to remove
7. Click on Remove
