Assuming an /etc/postfix/aliases file that looks like so:

abuse:          postmaster

expand the aliases:

% postmap -q abuse `postconf -h alias_maps`
postmaster
% postmap -q postmaster `postconf -h alias_maps`

% postmap -q root `postconf -h alias_maps`

Print out the version of postfix running on the system:

% postconf -d mail_version
mail_version = 2.0.16
