The Zune software can be set up to be very social by allowing everyone to send you messages, view what you are listening to and take a peek at your friends list. You can also limit some or all of these settings so that only your friends have this ability or block everyone from having any or all of these options.

It never fails, due to a typo or software snafu, some songs in your collection have incorrect information for the artist, album, genre, etc. This can make it difficult when you are trying to find that song you are looking for, setting up a playlist, or sharing music (not to mention that it doesn’t look right). If you use the Zune software to listen to music on your PC, the normal interface is rather boring to look at. There is an alternate interface that is much more pleasing to the eye. The Now Playing interface displays the album cover of the current song set on a backdrop of the album covers from your collection.

Zune: Speed Up Zune Software by Disabling the Marketplace Catalog Updates

There is a significant delay in the Zune software as it updates the Zune Marketplace Catalog. Since it is doubtful that you use the Marketplace each time you open the Zune software, you can eliminate this delay by disabling the Marketplace by renaming the dll file associated with it.
